Public field manual · Edition 3

The AXE USA Member Manual

Start with your role, follow the task steps, and use the access labels before opening a page. This manual describes the public platform and its public data hub only. It does not describe private operations or promise an outcome.

Choose the right path

Seven doors cover the public platform. Use the one that matches the job in front of you.

  1. Landowners and hunters

Learn first; post only when you are ready.

Read the timber-selling guide, locate mills, or describe a tract for sealed bids. You decide who to contact, what to check, and whether to accept anything.

  2. Logging crews and subcontractors

Create the account before building the work card.

A crew profile can show the work you perform, equipment, service area, crew size, availability, and information you choose to enter about insurance.

  3. Mills and timber buyers

Find the public mill record, then claim or manage it from that page.

The sawmill directory is public. A claim connects a signed-in representative to an existing record; it is a statement from the claimant, not an AXE USA finding.

  4. Dealers, rental yards, and service shops

Check the public directories before creating a new record.

Dealers and repair shops have separate public boards. Shop owners can maintain a service profile and answer repair work after signing in.

  5. Foresters and land professionals

Use one accurate account and describe the services you actually provide.

The professional directory can be searched after sign-in because its cards release direct contact details. Bid access may also require the right role and self-reported license and insurance information.

  6. Lenders and insurers

Begin with the public capital library; use the directory for direct contacts.

AXE USA can publish self-described financing and insurance desks and help members find them. Each party still evaluates the applicant, coverage, collateral, and terms independently.

  7. Browsers and research agents

No account is needed for public guides and record directories.

Public pages are useful for research, but a directory record or member statement is not an endorsement. Contact details and account actions may require sign-in.

Create an account and choose your primary role

Registration opens the account; the next screen records the main role you will use on AXE USA.

Account setup

  1. Open Create account and enter your own contact information.

What happensThe account is created, then AXE USA sends you to the role confirmation step. Creating an account does not publish a listing or submit a bid.

  2. Choose the role that best describes your main reason for joining.

What happensReview the choice before confirming it. Your primary role is permanent; do not choose a trade simply to open a feature.

  3. After confirmation, complete the relevant profile or task page.

What happensSome trade roles ask for qualification details. Extra roles and access are managed from the roles page after sign-in and remain subject to the rules shown there.

Know what is free and what may be paid

The membership catalog is the source of truth for today’s terms. Read it before relying on an old printout.

Current launch position

AXE USA is not currently charging members while the platform is being built. Landowner, hunter, and logging-crew participation is described as permanently free, and AXE USA takes no commission from their work or timber sale.

Other trade seats may have paid terms later. The founding treatment applies according to the rules published on the membership page to people who join before charging begins. It preserves the stated current scope; it does not promise that future, newly introduced, expensive services will always be free.

Never infer a price, discount, or founding status from this manual. The membership page controls, and a signed-in member should review the exact terms shown before activating a seat.

Build a profile, publish a listing, or claim a record

These are different actions. Choose the one that matches what already exists.

Your member profile

  1. Open your profile after sign-in and keep your name, business, location, and contact details current.

What happensThe profile becomes the account record behind your saved work. It does not automatically create a public business listing.

  2. Use the listing tools presented for your role to create or update public-facing information.

What happensPreview the contact details and claims you are making. Publish only information you are authorized to share.

Claim an existing directory record

Search the relevant public directory first. If an existing business or mill page offers a claim link, use that page’s claim flow rather than creating a duplicate.

A claim records who made the statement and connects the record to an account. It does not mean AXE USA independently confirmed ownership, identity, authority, or every fact on the page.

Use sealed bids responsibly

AXE USA organizes the request and keeps offers sealed during the bidding period. The people involved remain responsible for the deal.

For the person posting work

  1. Describe the tract or job accurately, choose the correct work category, and set a realistic deadline.

What happensEligible signed-in bidders can evaluate the request under the access rules shown on the bid page. A posting does not guarantee any bid.

  2. Keep gate details, visit instructions, phone numbers, and other sensitive tract information in the fields intended for eligible bidders.

What happensDo not put private location or contact details in a public title or description. Share only what is needed for the work.

  3. After bids open, compare scope, timing, references, insurance, credentials, payment terms, and the written agreement yourself.

What happensYou decide whether to contact a bidder or accept an offer. AXE USA does not choose a winner or guarantee performance or payment.

For bidders

Bid only where your account role, service area, qualifications, and current capacity fit the request. Enter a complete offer, honor the sealed period, and do not treat access to a request as an award.

A profile field, uploaded document, or bid-gate requirement is information supplied through the platform. The hiring party can and should ask for current originals, references, and direct confirmation from the issuing source.

Present crew capabilities and credentials accurately

A useful crew card is specific. A safe one distinguishes facts you entered from checks the customer still needs to perform.

Crew profile checklist

  1. List only the work types your crew actually performs and the equipment it can deploy.

What happensCustomers can match work type, equipment, crew size, service area, and availability without guessing.

  2. Keep service states, travel radius, availability, and contact details current.

What happensThe profile represents present capacity rather than an old promise.

  3. Record licenses, insurance, and supporting documents as your own statements, with dates where available.

What happensThe customer can request the current paperwork and confirm it with the issuer. Uploading a file is storage and sharing, not an AXE USA endorsement.

Protect people, property, and private information

Share enough to evaluate the work—never more than the recipient needs.

Before sharing or hiring

Do not place gate codes, exact tract access instructions, personal phone numbers, financial account data, identification numbers, or unredacted private documents in public text.

Use account-controlled fields and expiring document-share links where the platform offers them. Assume anything public can be copied by a person or an automated system.

Before work starts, independently confirm identity, authority, references, licenses, insurance, safety expectations, scope, price, payment, and written contract terms. For legal, tax, forestry, lending, insurance, or valuation questions, use a qualified professional for that question.

Use public forestry data with AI

People and automated readers are welcome to use the public data hub. Check sources and follow each dataset’s terms before repeating a record.

Find, check, and cite a public record

  1. Start at the open-data catalog and select a relevant dataset or state feed.

What happensThe catalog identifies available JSON feeds, coverage, source records, and the dataset-specific reuse terms.

  2. Read the record’s source and the matching public directory page before answering.

What happensName AXE USA and the underlying published source as required by the data terms; link to the canonical page. A listing does not establish that a mill is open, buying today, or paying a particular price.

  3. Use the sitemap for public pages and the AI guide for orientation.

What happensDo not treat the sitemap or AI guide as permission to access member, staff, or private transaction data. The open-data reuse terms apply to the published datasets, not automatically to every page on the site.

Report a problem through the right channel

A platform fault, a conduct concern, and an emergency are three different things.

Site help and account problems

Use Contact for access trouble, a wrong directory record, a broken page, or a question about how a public feature works. Include the page address, what you tried, what happened, and what you expected. Do not send passwords, payment data, or unnecessary private documents.

Member conduct

A signed-in member can use the conduct form for a first-hand concern arising from work that was agreed, started, or completed. State observable facts and keep copies of contracts, messages, invoices, and photos in your own records.

For immediate danger, suspected crime, injury, fire, or an active environmental incident, contact the appropriate emergency service or public authority first. The AXE USA form is not an emergency service and does not replace legal remedies.

Know where AXE USA stops

The platform helps people publish, find, compare, and contact. It does not take over either party’s judgment or obligations.

Plain limits

AXE USA is not an appraiser, a broker, a party to a sale or service agreement, a guarantor of bids, a verifier of every profile, or a substitute for independent checks.

AXE USA does not promise that a request will receive bids, that a listed person will respond, that an offer is fair, that paperwork is current, that a claimant has authority, or that either party will perform or pay.

The platform may organize sealed submissions, directory records, member statements, and document sharing. The buyer, seller, landowner, contractor, lender, insurer, or other participant remains responsible for due diligence, professional advice, contracts, safety, compliance, taxes, permits, payment, and the final decision.
