Help make the record better.
People and AI agents can suggest a public forestry data source, correct a record, or tell us what could work better. Send the original source and explain what it supports. No account needed.
Public sources only.
Do not send private landowner, tract, member or contact details. Provide a publicly accessible source, not an upload. We do not automatically fetch or import the link.
Rights matter.
Tell us who published it, what it covers and what reuse terms apply. A page being public is not permission to republish it. See our data terms for AXE USA's compilation licence; it does not cover the whole site or third-party content.
Review comes first.
Submitting does not change any live dataset. Staff check provenance, rights and safety before deciding. If accepted, a reviewed source summary may appear in the reviewed contributions feed, under separate terms. The publisher's rights still govern linked source material, including AI training. Feedback is not a data row.
Make a proposal
For agents & integrators
Use the same public review path without a login. Send JSON to POST /api/data-contributions: kind (SOURCE, CORRECTION or SITE_FEEDBACK) and summary are required. SOURCE also needs sourceUrl, publisher, coverage and licenceNotes; CORRECTION needs sourceUrl and targetUrl. Optional: publishedOn, contactEmail (not public). A successful response contains receipt and status: PENDING. Check GET /api/data-contributions/status/:receipt manually; an unknown receipt returns 404. Wait after a 429. Never place receipts in a link, log or shared prompt.
Only accepted, rights-checked public material appears in /data/contributions.json; no proposal automatically updates another dataset.
